Privacy Policy

JupPrepAI ("we", "our", "us") provides an online JUPEB preparation platform with CBT simulations, a past question tracker, formula bank, study habit tools and an AI study assistant. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023).

1. Information we collect

  • Account & authentication details: full name, email address, password hash, profile avatar and authentication tokens.
  • Student profile & KYC data: phone number, date of birth, state of residence, JUPEB study centre or university, intended course of study, subject combination, target point score (out of 16), daily question targets and reminder preferences.
  • Academic & performance data: CBT sessions, question responses, scores, timestamps, study streaks, topic-level history used by the JupPrep Counsellor, and queries to the AI Formula Assistant and Formula Bank.
  • Billing & transaction data: payments are handled directly by Paystack. We record payment reference IDs, plan tier, transaction date and subscription status. We never collect or store card numbers, CVVs or bank PINs.
  • Technical & usage information: IP address, browser, device, operating system and session timestamps, used to prevent account sharing and keep the platform running well.

2. How we use your information

  • Personalised exam preparation: tailoring CBT sets, tracking your daily 25-question target and showing syllabus weaknesses via the AI Counsellor.
  • Subscription verification: confirming active subscriptions with Paystack to unlock prep tools.
  • Service communication: sign-in emails, daily study check-in reminders (when enabled) and subscription notices.
  • System integrity & security: detecting fraud, enforcing subscription terms and fixing errors.

3. Data storage & security

  • Access controls: profile data and question history are isolated per account; only you can access your personal records.
  • File & media storage: avatars and uploads are kept in private storage and shown only through short-lived secure links.
  • Encryption: all traffic is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS).

4. Third-party service providers

  • Paystack, our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.
  • Cloud infrastructure & AI providers that host our database, sign-in services and the verified formula assistant.
  • Search engines (Google and Bing) index only our public pages and blog; protected student areas are excluded.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to marketers or advertising networks.

5. Your data rights

  • Access and correct your KYC, school and subject preferences in your Profile Portal.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated study logs.
  • Opt out of optional notifications and reminders.
  • Contact us with any concern about how your data is handled.

6. Children & minor candidates

  • Many JUPEB candidates are under 18. We encourage parents and guardians to oversee their student's online preparation. We collect only the academic and contact information needed to provide our services.

7. Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy to reflect new features or regulatory changes. Updates will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
